Championship Run Hits Disappointing End
Bluefish blow 3-run lead with 2 outs to go, lose in extras

West Roxbury, MA (BNN):  The Bluefish road to a three-peat may have finally met it's match.  After finally getting by Al Thomas 3 games to 2, the Bluefish took that momentum and won Game 1 of the Finals by a score of 4-1.  Since that night, it's been Somerville cashing in when it's counted, and now have won 3 straight 1-run games, including Game 2 in extra innings and Game 3 on a walk-off.  The Bluefish have scored first in each of the 4 games, but that has helped the team very little.  The Labor Day break couldn't come at a better time for this team, as they have lost 3 in a row for the first time all year.  Game 5 will be on Tuesday 9/7, with Chris Sandini taking the Billings Park mound trying to prevent the Bluefish's first playoff elimination since the 2007 YBL Semifinals.

Former Bluefish McCrann Goes Pro
Ryan McCrann Signs Free Agent Contract with Tampa Bay Rays

W.Roxbury (BNN):  Former Bluefish Shortstop Ryan McCrann signed a Free Agent Contract with the Tampa Bay Rays back on June 20th, becoming the 4th Bluefish player to play Professional Baseball.  McCrann, who played for the Bluefish in 2005 and 2006, was assigned to the Gulf Coast Rays (Rookie) of the Gulf Coast League, where he is hitting .254 in 23 games (as of 7/24).  McCrann joins Joe McGhee (Brockton Rox/Calgary Vipers), Nick Vardaro (Sussex Skyhawks/Brockton Rox), and Kit Kadlec (Wuppertal Stingrays, German Bundesliga) as the 4th Bluefish Alumni to play professional baseball.
